It features SFP+ connectors on both ends and a 1‑metre twinax copper cable, making it ideal for linking SFP+ ports within the same rack or between adjacent racks in data centres and enterprise networks. Because it uses a passive copper design, it delivers reliable 10 Gbps performance with low latency without the need for separate transceivers or optical fibre, reducing cost and power consumption. The cable supports a variety of protocols beyond 10 Gigabit Ethernet (including various Fibre Channel and CPRI rates), complies with SFP+ MSA standards, and operates over a standard commercial temperature range.
